Common Requirements for All Mozambique eVisa/eTA Applications

Both of these documents are required, irrespective of the eVisa or eTA type the applicant is applying for:

Passport Bio-Data Page Scan

  • Submit a scanned copy of the passport's bio-data page. Ensure all 4 corners, including the MRZ code, are clearly visible.

A Mozambique tourist eVisa and a tourist eTA share the same document requirements.

Submit a confirmed and paid accommodation booking in Mozambique for the entire stay duration.

Additional Document Required for Business eVisa and Business eTA

Applicants for a Mozambique Business eVisa or Business eTA must provide the following common documents (return/onwards travel ticket and accommodation proof), along with additional documents based on the applicant type selected (check below).

Submit proof of financial means such as a recent bank statement or salary slip showing sufficient funds for the stay in Mozambique.

Submit an invitation letter issued by the inviting company in Mozambique.

Submit an invitation letter issued by the inviting Mozambique company.

Additional Documents Required for Investment eVisa 

Police Clearance Certificate (Translated into Mozambique's Official Language)

Submit a clean criminal record certificate issued by your home country’s relevant authority. If it is not in Portuguese, have it translated before submitting.

Medical Certificate (Translated into Mozambique’s Official Language)

Submit a medical certificate confirming that you are medically fit to travel and carry out your investment activities in Mozambique. The submitted document must be in ‘Portuguese’.

Submit a nomination letter confirming your appointment or representation in connection with the investment activity.

Submit the required INSS clearance certificate showing the company's social security compliance in Mozambique.

Invitation Letter 

  • For Sports Activity: Provide an invitation letter from the inviting organisation outlining the planned sports activity and visit details.
  • For Cultural Activity: Submit a letter issued by the inviting organisation confirming your participation in the cultural event and stay in Mozambique.

  • For Sports Activity: Submit a credential issued by the State Secretary of Sports.
  • For Cultural Activity: Provide a credential issued by the Ministry of Culture.

  • Airline Crew: Submit a crew ID issued by the airline.
  • Cruise/Ship Crew: Submit a crew ID issued by the shipping company or cruise operator.

  • Airline Crew: Submit a letter from the airline or its agency confirming your crew assignment and requesting the Crew Visa.
  • Cruise/Ship Crew: Submit a letter from the shipping company, cruise operator, or agency confirming your vessel assignment and requesting the Crew Visa.

Terms of Responsibility from the Inviting Person 

  • Airline Crew: Submit a declaration from the person or organisation responsible for you in Mozambique.
  • Cruise/Ship Crew: Submit a declaration from the shipping/port representative or organisation responsible for you in Mozambique.

Additional Documents Required for Humanitarian Assistance Visa

Invitation letter

Submit an invitation letter from the government authority, international organisation, or NGO inviting you to carry out humanitarian work in Mozambique.

Police Clearance Certificate (Translated into Mozambique's Official Language)

Submit a criminal record certificate issued by the relevant authority in your country. Ensure it is translated into Mozambique's official language, ‘Portuguese’.

Submit a medical certificate confirming the applicant's medical/health status or travel fitness. Mozambique authorities require the document to be in ‘Portuguese’.

Submit the credential issued by INGD authorising or confirming your participation in humanitarian activities in Mozambique.

Additional Document Required for Minor Applicant (Under Age 18) 

Note: Minors can only apply for a Mozambique Tourist and Sports or Culture eVisa. 

In addition to the common documents required, such as a passport bio page scan and a passport-size photograph and additional documents required for a tourist eVisa or sports or culture eVisa, an application submitted for a minor will also require the following documents: 

ID of Parent or Guardian / Representative

Submit ID of the minor’s parent or guardian/representative.

Submit a signed responsibility letter from the minor applicant’s parent or legal guardian confirming consent for the minor’s travel and accepting responsibility for them.
